    What this skill does

Walks you through a 5-step Stoic morning practice in under 10 minutes. Produces a dated morning page you can save as markdown or export as print-friendly HTML.

Based on the Stoic morning routine practiced by Marcus Aurelius, Epictetus and Seneca — adapted for modern founders, executives and creators in partnership with @estoicodiario, the largest Portuguese-language Stoicism community on Instagram (325K+ followers).

    The 5 steps

    1. Premeditatio Malorum: anticipate 2 difficulties that may show up today
    2. Dichotomy of Control: separate what depends on you from what doesn't
    3. View From Above: zoom out, see this day from 100 years out
    4. Intention of the Day: pick 1 of the 4 cardinal virtues (wisdom, courage, justice, temperance) and a concrete situation
    5. Gratitude Triad: 1 thing from the past, 1 from the present, 1 from the future

    When to use

    • Morning, before opening email or Slack
    • Ahead of a hard meeting or an intense week
    • When you wake up restless or with too much on your mind

    Don't use it for:

    • General philosophical discussion (a normal chat does the job)
    • Evening reflection (use evening-examen, coming soon)
    • Non-Stoic mindfulness (use dedicated meditation tools)

    How it works

    1. The skill asks one question at a time (it doesn't dump all 5 on you)
    2. Waits for your answer before moving on — the friction is part of the practice
    3. Uses real quotes from Marcus Aurelius, Seneca and Epictetus (at most 1 per session)
    4. Doesn't correct you philosophically — the exercise is yours
    5. At the end, generates the dated entry in markdown or print-ready HTML

    # Stoic Morning Page — 2026-05-06

    ## Premeditatio Malorum
    Today I may run into:
    - A hard meeting with the client who didn't close last month
    - An email from the investor with tough questions about runway

    ## Dichotomy of Control
    WITHIN MY CONTROL:
    - The quality of my prep for the meeting
    - The honesty with which I answer the investor

    NOT WITHIN MY CONTROL:
    - Whether the client will close
    - How the investor will react to the numbers

    ## View From Above
100 years from now: the meeting doesn't matter. What matters is
    whether I acted with integrity.

    ## Intention of the Day
    Virtue: courage.
Situation: tell the investor the real number, even if it's bad.

    ## Gratitude Triad
    - Past: the partner who trusted me back in 2023
    - Present: having the health to work 12h today
    - Future: the chance to build something that matters
